Your dog’s crate is their safe transportation, their home, and in many cases, their sleeping spot.  Many dogs are quite fond of their crates and tend to spend more time there than you originally thought they would.  Many dogs, especially smaller breeds, like to have someplace to go where they feel protected, particularly when there are guests or other small animals in the house.  Other dogs just love having a spot that is just theirs, where their human friends can’t go.  If your dog spends a lot of time in their crate, then you might consider getting them a dog crate pad.  Dog crate pads let dogs be comfortable and even sleep in their crates by providing a soft surface to enjoy anytime.

Dog crate pads come in many varieties.  Of course, one of the first things to consider when shopping for a dog crate pad is the size of your dog’s crate.  You can choose to cover the entire bottom of the crate or just part of it.  There are dog crate pads that are thick like pillows, or pads that are more like rugs.  Additionally, you can choose from all types of fabrics from fleece to cotton and even organic fabrics.  You might choose a dog crate pad that is entirely machine washable or just use a machine washable cover.  And many dog crate pads are convertible, so they can be a cozy bed or a rug and can go from the crate to the living room floor.
